PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – March 8, 2021): Directorate of the Department of Social Welfare and Women’s Development Khyber Pakhtunkhwa In collaboration with Blue Veins and Bolo Helpline, the Aawaz II program organized a community dialogue at the Peshawar Press Club to commemorate International Women’s Day.
According to a press release posted here on Monday, the Aawaz II program marked the day with the theme of “Creating an Inclusive and Gender Equitable Community”. The event was attended by the Aawaz II Village Forum, members of the district forum, lawyers, students, journalists and volunteer youth.
The participants in the dialogue discussed the effective and full participation of women, decision-making in public life and the eradication of violence in order to achieve gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls.
Sana Ahmad of Blue Veins said: “Gender equality is not only a basic human right, it is an integral part of peaceful societies.
It is therefore of the utmost importance to end the multiple forms of gender-based violence and to ensure equal access to quality education and health and to recognize women in all walks of life. “Sahar Khan’s project leader, Bolo Helpline Govt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said:” Women of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa want and deserve a future of equality, free from stigma, stereotypes and violence. A future that is sustainable, peaceful, with equal rights and opportunities for everyone.
To get us there, we need women at every decision-making table, she added.
