LBUSD: Worldwide goal group for podcasts

April 15, 2021

Long Beach Unified School District’s myPD Unplugged Podcast has launched a new series of Equity Thought Leaders to help educators develop a deeper understanding of multicultural education, justice, and social justice pedagogy. Working with the nonprofit Learning Forward, the series will continue to focus on equity discussions and local and national leaders like author Dr. Welcome Gholdy Muhammad and Salman Khan, the founders of the Khan Academy.

The podcast myPD Unplugged, produced by LBUSD, was started in 2018 with the support of Learning Forward as part of an innovative professional development so that teachers can learn more about educational topics. Since its inception, the podcast has received more than 40,000 streams worldwide, with New Zealand, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and France showing the greatest interest.

Do a Google search for myPD Unplugged to find the podcast series. The podcast can also be streamed via the podcast app on your phone and, for employees, via the myPD page in the myLBUSD portal.
