At the end of July I drove the family to #Disney. My 5 year old daughter wanted to go and we had a good window so we did! Here are some pictures, notes, and we’re talking on a #Podcast! I lived in Tampa, FL for a couple of years and traveled to Orlando once or twice a month. I love Universal Studios and Disney World theme parks and am always looking for an excuse to come back and visit them now that I’m about 1000 miles away. We decided to drive just because we could easily pack more things for the kids and it’s IMO less of a hassle than dealing with airports and rental cars. We stayed at a humble little AirBnB about a 30 minute drive from Disney. We have friends in the area, but personally I like being away from all the hotels and crowded streets and so on when we are on leisure. It’s a catch22, you save money by staying a little further away but it takes a little longer to get to the parks.
The Food and Wine Festival in Epcot was not yet fully underway, but around half of the kitchens around the World Showcase were open. Food from Greece, China, Mexico and Germany are usually my favorites at these events, and they all served when we were there.
Our good friends who live in the area were kind enough to invite us to their room at the Animal Kingdom Resort and hang out by the pool. Her room overlooked an open space where a few animals could roam and graze. The kids loved it and every time they went out on the balcony they saw something different.
