The People’s Party of Canada has officially announced its candidate from Cowichan-Malahat-Langford for the 44th federal election.
Mark Hecht was officially honored on May 17th.
“It is an honor to be selected by the Southern Vancouver Island EDA to represent Maxime Bernier’s People’s Party of Canada in Cowichan-Malahat-Langford,” said Hecht. “Maxim’s voice and message represents the opinions and perspectives of thousands of Canadians across the country who feel that traditional political parties have ignored them. After a decade-long career as a university lecturer and writer, now was the right time for me to bring courage and common sense into the decisions that affect our country’s future. I am proud to be at the side of our manager and our candidate team. “
In the 43rd federal election in 2019, Rhonda Chen represented the PPC and the party received 1.63 percent of the vote.
Jordan Quitzau, CEO of the Southern Vancouver Island EDA – PPC Association, is pleased to have Hecht on board for the next election.
“I am very excited to be working with Mark Hecht as our PPC candidate for Cowichan-Malahat-Langford,” said Quitzau. “Mark is a true Canadian whose cunning, wit and compassion win the district’s trust and make him an excellent representative. I look forward to immediately starting the campaign and working with Mark to spread our message of individual freedom, fairness, personal responsibility and respect. “
The 44th Canadian general election will take place on or before October 16, 2023.
