Spotify has announced a new partnership with Delta in which the streaming service will take over the “audio” section of Delta’s in-flight entertainment and make selected playlists and podcasts available to all passengers free of charge.

You are now free to walk around the cabin and enjoy the music and podcasts you love from 30,000 feet up. As of today we are starting a new partnership with Delta, in which Spotify will take over the “audio” section of Delta’s in-flight entertainment. This means that passengers on Delta flights equipped with seat-back entertainment worldwide can now enjoy their favorite audio content exclusively on board Delta Studio.

According to the press release, the free in-flight content is licensed directly from Delta and includes specially curated versions of Spotify’s most popular playlists as well as 42 selected podcast series to choose from.

In other words, not all Spotify content will be available, but passengers will be able to listen to playlists like Mood Booster, Are & Be, Hot Country, Mint, Today’s Top Hits, Relax & Unwind, RapCaviar, and Ultimate Indie.

The first podcasts available include Crime Junkie, Science Vs, StartUp, The Dave Chang Show, The Hottest Take, The Journal, and more.

Spotify says the update to Delta’s in-flight entertainment is now rolling out, with more content being updated regularly, with more to come in October.
