Cloud VRM provides a scalable platform that coordinates and automates IP-based video recording workflows for cloud DVR and time-shifted video applications. The service offers consumers a comprehensive, time-shifted viewing experience on every connected screen. An architecture is used that is independent of the middleware and pre-integrated into several recording engine solutions.
Jim Brickmeier, Velocix’s Chief Product & Marketing Officer, said, “We are committed to providing video service providers with the most flexible, efficient and cost-effective solutions on the market. So we are very excited to announce Cloud VRM. With its cloud-native design, cost-effectiveness, and fully hosted and managed deployment options, operators can leverage our Emmy Award-winning recording technology while reducing their upfront investment and time-to-market. ”
Cloud VRM’s newly introduced multi-tenancy capabilities are designed to minimize operator scale-out costs by coordinating recording services across multiple locations and regions using a common software delivery. This reduces start-up time and operating costs as the on-site management infrastructure no longer needs to be recorded.
Cloud VRM supports private copy, shared copy and hybrid cloud DVR applications as well as time-shifted video functions such as program restart and catch-up TV. The advanced functions for recording management include recording and storage quotas per user, serial recording, cross-device bookmarks, management of the content lifecycle, compliance with rule-based rights and configurable storage optimization.
